Actuarial process improvement

I make complex financial work faster, safer, and easier to explain.

I build reliable systems around actuarial models, data, and reporting. I turn manual work into clear, repeatable processes people can trust. I bring a collaborative, solutions-oriented style to technical work.

8+years in life and annuity work
Days → Minutesfor recurring actuarial processes

Selected work

Proof through the process.

Representative work is generalized to protect employer information. The results and scale are real.

01Actuarial reporting

Days of manual work became minutes.

THE CHALLENGE

Recurring reserve, cash-flow, and reporting work depended on slow steps that were easy to get wrong.

THE CHANGE

Built controlled ingestion, validation, and reconciliation steps with clear exception handling and an audit trail.

THE RESULT

Faster runs, errors that are removed or easy to find, and reports that were not practical before.

02Renewal-rate production

13,000+ coverage lines, every quarter.

THE CHALLENGE

A high-volume renewal process needed accurate calculations, timely publication, and dependable checks.

THE CHANGE

Used SAS, SQL, Access, and Excel automation to streamline calculations and catch issues earlier.

THE RESULT

A more reliable production cycle and more useful reporting for account teams.

03Projection modeling

Many scenarios became one review surface.

THE CHALLENGE

Large asset and liability projection runs produced outputs that were difficult to combine and review.

THE CHANGE

Created Power Query and VBA tools to consolidate scenarios, support quality checks, and explain changes.

THE RESULT

Shorter reporting cycles and a clearer path from model run to business review.

How I work

Build the path. Prove the result.

I am most useful when a process is important, technical, hard to trace, or too dependent on manual steps.

01Source

Find the true inputs and owners.

02Validate

Define rules, keys, and exceptions.

03Transform

Automate repeatable logic.

04Reconcile

Reperform and compare results.

05Explain

Document the system and decisions.

Personal project · built outside of work

Trace how an Excel result was calculated.

I built this project in my spare time to turn workbook formulas into a searchable dependency map. It is not employer work, and no employer, customer, or source-workbook data is included.

PERSONAL R&DBuilt independently with synthetic data

The underlying approach and scripts are portable. I can use the experience to improve a team's existing tools or bring the scripts into an approved development workflow.

Technical range

Tools serve the workflow.

I choose the technology that makes the work more dependable, not the other way around.
